This elegant stoneware bowl stands on a narrow foot. The inside is carved with two large stylized lotus flowers and the outside is carved with lotus petals above the foot and a much stylized classic border below the rim. The whole piece is covered with a fine celadon glaze. Similar bowls were retrieved from a Chinese junk which sank off the Korean coast circa 1323 and which are now in the National Museum of Korea, Seoul
